Hope from despair…. “I heard the bells on Christmas day”. Words by William Wordsworth music modern. https://youtu.be/oZtNlZmnEMU Because it speaks of this mans despair turning to hope in Jesus it’s probably one of my favourite songs for this time of year.
Good video piece.
Our church has a tradition of a Christmas service of just readings and carols. It is very popular.
On a final point, Radio Scotland’s Brian Burnett had a phone-in Christmas show some years ago, when listeners were asked to nominate their favourite Christmas song. One chap phoned in and suggested, “There’s No Lights on the Christmas Tree Mama” by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band.
Scottish humour at its best.
Wordsworth and Ian Anderson!
Not quite sure what cosmic alignment is responsible for this on a Friday morning, but many thanks to Ulsterman and Alastair.
Perhaps I should keep my eyes open for a star.
God bless you both.

Speaking of Scottish musicians , here’s Ian Anderson with a song, the title of which embodies all the risks of current life :

Thank you , OR.
Indeed Rocker. Quite a mix. Blessings and merry Christmas to you and yours.
I just now realised my mistake. Did anyone else spot it? I put wordsworth instead of Longfellow. ππ
