Well – good for Steve for the title of the book. “Of course you are the bad guys” you say. What does Jesus say for being hated because of him – great is your reward in the kingdom for this is how the prophets were treated. Of course it is also possible to be claiming to be prophetic and speaking truth without being loving or lying and being disrespectful – both are damaging of course.
You say David, you have “never known what it is like the been the good guy” – that’s what made me laugh. You are persona non grata in Scotland (your words) and a “whinging Scotsman” according to Steve. Is there anywhere on earth that is safe form your vitriol? (I’m joking).
So Steve talks about “not following Jesus well enough” being “found wanting” and finding it to be “unnerving” to not be a “good guy”. I do like the awareness he shows about this and what he is saying. But he did something that I hate in saying that this is what “we” do? Well who are the “we” in this and isn’t that insulting to those of us who have left family, work etc and have not been afraid to be shunned for standing for what is good while being treated as bad?

The only thing that’s going to make a difference in the world is action yes we are justified by faith not works but faith without works is dead faith.
