  1. You can be a visible representation of Christ because it’s not about you and your thought “what a hypocrite”. No-one is without sin. But in Christ you are clothed in the righteousness of Christ.

Maybe just maybe if more of the church had a grasp of God’s grace, then this issue that concerns you might diminish and in turn we may see more of Christ in the world.

Sometimes a sense of spiritual pride can be in not letting yourself be loved by God and instead preferring to think of yourself in a way that God does not intent, perhaps unintentionally and perhaps come about though human tradition in the church and teachings which though well intentioned perhaps, lay too heavy of a burden on identification with sin?

Yes sin is serious, of course it is. It requires both the love of God show in Christ giving up his life to overcome and for this to be the same in believers – giving up your life for Christ’s sake in order to have life in its fullest. Grace is costly!

And yet you are fearfully and wonderfully made God’s handiwork in Christ Jesus with good to do that he has prepared in advance for you and the joy of the Lord being your strength, with a God given spirit not of timidity but of love, power, sound mind and self-control.

Perhaps self edification with the latter and edification of all believers, for all believers as much as the cautionary tale about sin and the cost in following Jesus might not go amiss?
