 11) Wuhan  Christian Doctor –

Please note that it turns out that this is likely fake news – not the bravery of the doctor or the reality of his existence – but this poem is apparently not from him.  Apologies for passing this on.  I had received it from four different sources, two of whom I regard as totally reliable.  I don’t blame them – they were caught out as I was….!

“Goodbye, my dear ones.
Farewell, Wuhan, my hometown.
Hopefully, after the disaster,
You’ll remember someone once
Tried to let you know the truth as soon as possible.
Hopefully, after the disaster,
You’ll learn what it means to be righteous.
No more good people
Should suffer from endless fear,
And helpless sadness.”

“那美好的仗我已經打完了,
應行的路我已行盡了,
當守的道我守住了。
從此以後,
有公義的冠冕為我留存。”
《聖經》提摩太後書4.7
“I have fought the good fight.
I have finished the race.
I have kept the faith.
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness.”
2 Timothy 4:7, Holy Bible

  1. It is a worry that the governments around the world are trying to surpress legitiment content on the web, and how companies can take down sites, alter them.

One of the reasons why I still carry a physical copy of the Bible with me, because I fear that in the not distant future Bible apps will either be pulled or altered to suit a particular goverenments ‘beliefs’.

  2. Hi David,
I’ve been really enjoying the blog over the last 18 months or so since I stumbled across it and having kept up with your work here for that long (and given the edit to the above post already!) I know you’d not want to publish anything that was incorrect as fact.

In this episode of Quantum you say that “4% of the population in the United Kingdom are…BAME” and then “8% of students are [BAME]”. I don’t think that’s quite right- is it possible you were meaning to say black rather than BAME? This article from the BBC a couple of years ago seems to contain the same statistic but referring to black and also restricting the population measure to 18-24 year olds:

Apologies for being a stickler- I work in a data-focused job in Higher Education and was unable to stop myself!

Thank you for your continued work, witness and encouragement.
