Personal Scotland

A Very Special Place – for Sale!

It is with a great deal of sorrow that I have to tell you that our home in Portmahomack is up for sale.   This is the home I thought we would retire to…it is the home of my parents – and they have gone.   We are selling it because we cannot afford to run a house here and one in Scotland – and to be honest it is unlikely that we would retire there anyway – at least for some time.  And we would like others to have the benefit of one of the most beautiful situations in Scotland….

This place is so close to my heart –  and it is with a heavy heart that I let it go…..but the Lord has called us elsewhere….and this world is not our home….However  I would love it go to some good new owners….

I wrote about it here   A Taste of Heaven

There has already been significant interest – so much so that the estate agent has set a closing date of the 18th of December…so if you want to make a bid – you had better be quick!  If you are interested e-mail me – theweeflea@gmail.com

It is for sale at offers over 265,000 – which to me is grossly undervalued!

All the info and photos are on the Mackenzie Cormack website here

  1. It is one of the hardest decisions we ever make. God will direct you to the best person /people to live there after you. My sister and I have kept in touch with the nearest neighbour to ours. It is weird going along the farm road. The picture of your Dad on the tractor and the hens brought lovely memories for me of mine.

  2. I think you know mum and dad and possibly even god would want you to sell locally you know to who who would be a good start and would carry on being used as a home with animals and crops etc etc

    1. I would love to sell locally – in fact any local who meets the asking price can have it, no matter what anyone else offers….What I can’t do is sell at significantly under its worth, knowing that whoever gets it could then pass it on at a big profit….if people are serious about owning it – they will pay what it is worth…personally I think it is greatly undervalued….but will go along with the asking price – to any local!
