Thank you for your remarks about Charlie Kirk. I greatly admired his willingness to debate those on the left in a courteous and engaging manner, and his courage in standing up for the unborn child. Most of all I admired his straightforward and unapologetic Christian testimony. To the many of us who folllowed his career but never knew him,his murder is the great tragedy that Konstantin Kisin referred to. We mourn with his family and friends, and pray that they will be comforted.
Robert
Hi Robert. You are welcome to your opinions. However bright and unapologetic as Mr Kirk may have been I get the feeling he was a bit of a bully and fraudster in his debating style and content. As I responded to another post – I would like to have seen him debate theology with the late Revs Macleod (Free Church College) and MacDonald (Raasay). I think they would have exposed the weaknesses and contradictions in the philosophy of Mr Kirk.
Its best not to judge people by your feelings. Can I suggest you have a look at his debates before you accuse him of bullying and fraud. These are very serious charges to make – especially about someone who cannot answer back because he has just been assassinated!
I thought stating Mr Kirk was a bully and a fraudster were my feelings was giving the circumstances a polite way to put it. As I say I have no knowledge of Mr Kirk until the furore around his death. I thus had a look at his material to find out more about this seemingly saintly person. What I found abhorred me. Mr Kirk had a smart way with words and made the most contentious seem reasonable. This is where the evidence of bullying and fraud became clear to me. I also found his attitude to money very strange – he seemed to be pushing Christianity as Mammon. These are the reasons for my statements – which I would state whether Mr Kirk was living or dead
Its not good enough just to repeat how you feel. If you are making accusations then you should provide examples and evidence. You stated he was a bully who abhorred you. What was his attitude to money? Again could you give an example? Otherwise it appears that you are just emoting your personal dislikes – based on nothing but your feelings. That might not be the wisest or kindest thing to do to someone just after they have been killed for expressing their opinions….!
