How would you deal with this situation? The street your manse is in has a new neighbour next door to you. They erect a huge wall around their house topped with barbed wire with gun turrets at all four corners of the garden. They then start throwing stones and generally upset the neighbourhood. They next bring in a bulldozer, evict the neighbours on the other side from you, destroy their house and then extend their wall, etc into the property. They then do the same across the road.
The analogy is somewhat flawed. If someone broke into my manse, raped my wife and killed my children…how would I deal with that?

As in South Africa and Zimbabwe both sides need to come together, forgive, reconcile and build a new future together. In the view of my late Jimmy (Jewish Scot) and myself – the balance of hate sadly seems to be on the extreme Israeli side – remember Jimmy was hoping for a new life in Israel but returned disgusted by the behaviour of his fellows.
Continual theft of land and resources combined with extreme racist and hatred – eg destruction of aid resources – are all contributing to the toxic environment which will not be resolved.
It is worth noting that an unknown number of the deaths you cite were caused by the Israelis themselves invoking the Hannibal Directive. Also it has been shown and admitted by the IDF that there is no clear evidence rapes took place – rather clothing displacement was caused by Israelis making sure none of the remains were booby trapped.
I struggle to comprehend the mind that allows the behaviour of the settlers and dehumanises both sides to these extents. As I have said before – this evidence and that of my late Jimmy – the balance of hate appears to be on the Israeli side.
How sad. You repeat the lies of Hamas as though they were truth – and seek to justify the slaughter of Jews. The balance of prejudice seems to be on your side.

Life is just not so binary. Of course there are atrocities being committed by both sides. However the point is that Hamas cannot be trusted in terms of their figures (as has been shown time and time again)…they are the ones who are using their civilians as shields and to garner sympathy throughout the West. Its an effective strategy.
I find it strange you see facts – widely reported from a wide range of sources – as lies from Hamas. Both sides are guilty of slaughter. If find it rather strange you count the deaths of thousands of innocent people as amounting to nought. Furthermore are you saying the lived experience of a deceased Scots Jew who thought it would be right to relocate to Israel – only to find the extreme prejudice from his fellows made him return to Scotland – counts for naught? This made him return to Scotland with a message which is unfortunately not a lie. Time will bear out the incorrectness of your attitude.

All the figures used by the BBC are from ‘the Palestinian Health authority’…ie. Hamas. But again you seem to be missing the point – no one is disputing that terrible things are happening – some by Israelis and some by Hamas. It seems you are somewhat selective in your condemnation and far too quick to google ‘facts’ that support your opinions and prejudices…try to think a wee bit wider…
The facts in my case do not come from Google – they come from the lived experience of my late husband supplemented after his death by a wide range of sources and friends both in Scotland and the Middle East.
