‘Summary of General Convention Resolutions on Abortion and Women’s Reproductive Health
February 23, 2024’ makes interesting reading. A statement of Episcopal Church confusion or heresy?
G’day Mr Robertson. Thank you for another interesting podcast. I am impressed that with your pastoral workload you still find time to produce these thoughtful pieces. On the subject of Mr Musk I thought you and fellow listeners may like to know a bit more about him. The British organisation Led by Donkeys have produced a summary to his background – https://youtu.be/NjWl_RNDMSA?si=yd4ws-RWRh3hoEEQ
It’s difficult to know whether you are being ironic or genuine in commending Lead by Donkeys as a serious commentator and source for information about ELon Musk. Thats a bit like suggesting that the Nazis are a good source for information on the history of the Jews! They are a propagandist organisation which recently pulled the stunt of projecting a Musk as Nazi on to his Tesla factory in Germany. If this is where you get your information I suggest you look for a better source!
Thank you David. I’m a bit perplexed as to your comments on Led by Donkeys considering the range of polemical sources you continuously use and cite.
No need to be perplexed – I cite lots of sources – doesn’t mean I approve of them all. I suggest you try that. Don’t just go with those who agree with your politics. And in future don’t post links on here to a propaganda piece by an extremist group – and pretend that it is some kind of reliable historical source. I prefer to stick with the truth.
During the week I noticed a number of commentators from the anti-Trump media, congratulating Bishop Budde on the gracious way in which she delivered her pleas to the incoming President. I decided to listen to her sermon and, I am pleased to say, the congratulations were warranted. Her delivery was measured and gracious.
It is difficult to criticise her as she accurately represented a brand of Christianity which has long since turned its back on the Lord’s word. Of course many in the secular world will support this stance, and by extension, her suitability for high office. She presents no challenge to that secular world.
It is only to be hoped that some day someone will speak to them both, in measured and gracious tones, and bring her and President Trump back to biblical Christianity.
A sermon is way more than ‘delivery’. It is WHAT is said that really matters – and WHO is preached.
