What is the difference between moral, civil and ceremonial laws. How do we know the moral law? Is it just because of the Bible?
I don’t agree that we can be saved by perfect obedience to the Moral Law. We are condemned by the sin of our first Covenant head, Adam. Ony by the perfect obedience and sacrifice of our New Covenant Head, the Lord Jesus Christ can we be saved.
Listen to the whole video. That’s the point of it. If we could keep the Moral Law perfectly we would be saved – because we wouldn’t need to be saved! The point is that because of our fallen nature we can’t.
I don’t agree that if we could keep the Moral Law perfectly we would be saved. We are lost because of the sin of Adam, our Covenant Head. As the old addage says, “In Adam’s fall we sinned all”. Even if we could keep the Moral Law perfectly, we would still need Christ’s saving work.
Of course if we could keep the moral law perfectly we would be saved. The point is we can’t…because of our fallen human nature because of Adams sin.
If we could keep the law perfectly and did keep it perfectly we would not need to be saved. We would not be included “in Adam”. ” For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.” 1 Corinthians 15:22. Who is that die in Adam? All in Adam. WHo is it that shall be made alive in Christ? All in Christ.
“They being the root of all mankind, THE GUILT OF THIS SIN WAS (IMPUTED); (Gen. 1:27–28, Gen. 2:16–17, Acts 17:26, Rom. 5:12, 15–19, 1 Cor. 15:21–22, 45, 49) and the same death in sin, and corrupted nature, conveyed to all their posterity descending from them by ordinary generation.” Westminster Confession of Faith. VI, 3.
