Bible Evangelism Preaching Sermons

Not Ashamed of the Gospel

IMG-7967

This Sunday we are supposed to be having an invitation service at St Thomas’s – inviting people to come and hear the Good News.   I guess we could not have chosen a worse Sunday!   I suspect that both government and church announcements today mean that this will not be going ahead….the general sense of panic in the community also means that it would be unlikely for people to come.  I still believe that in this atmosphere of gloom, doom and panic we have great Good News to bring to people – this is the sermon I preached last Sunday….Not Ashamed of the Gospel – Romans 1:1-17

Perhaps your ”mission” would be better served if you actively encouraged people stay at home and read their bibles rather than bemoan the fact you will soon be unable to preach your sermons in church.

    1. Go on then Douglas, lead by example.. Start with Ephesians Chapter 1&2.
      Romans, too.
You’d need help, and need to ask for the helper, Holy Spirit, for living and active understanding, edification, for life giving.

      1. Hi, Geoff.
I have read the bible. My comment was directed at David conducting his business and the best way he could go about it under these conditions.
As an atheist and anti-theist, why on earth would I want to read it again during lock-down?
