This is my farewell gift to Scotland! – An interview broadcast on BBC Radio Scotland this morning at 8:30. It’s called the long interview because having 30 minutes to discuss on radio is unusual. I found Bill Whiteford to be one of the best interviewers I have ever faced – probing and challenging without being rude and aggressive. We discussed a range of subjects, the Free Church, Brexit, Scottish Politics, the Sabbath etc……..enjoy
Here are some of the responses – kind of sums up my ministry in Scotland!
I write this with a heart full of thankfulness for all the Lord has done, sorrow for leaving my beloved Scotland and a degree of excitement and anticipation about the future.
Writing in Glasgow airport – which is filled with Glaswegians heading off on holiday – nothing more Scottish than people in the miserable Glasgow weather dressed as though they were already on the beach in Costa Del Sol! Except perhaps my farewell meal – haggis bon bons!
Anyway in the words of the old song….
Hi David
Just to say you’re interview and your answers with Bill Whiteford was just fantastic. It’s the best interview I’ve listened to on the BBC (and I listen to a lot) ever.
God Bless and keep you and yours as you head to Australia.
Ps. Who knows, you might come back to parish ministry!
Did you fly out on the Sabbath?
