Thanks! Just one point. The “UK”/”Irish” rioters with flags in NI are probably not attending mass or communion. Not sure they deserve denominational labels?
I am so glad you have picked up on the two tier approach taken by Government and police. About 20 years ago I went on a Bradford Diocese Retreat to Northumberland -I was living in Lincolnshire at the time. I was shocked to hear peoples derogatory comments about their new neighbours – property values going down, rubbish left in the street, treatment of women etc. But they were the ones living with the reality of mass immigration from other cultures.
Bradford is now 85% Muslim and Birmingham 89%. Last year Leicester had a running battle between Hindus and Muslims.
I have not been out in the streets, but I feel angry that our Governments have brought this about and now they want to pontificate on law and order. I feel we are living on a tinder box and events like the murder of innocent children is a match which lights the fire.
I don’t know where you found your statistics from Tricia, but from the ones I found, of those who indicated a faith in Birmingham, 30% said they were Muslim, 34% said they were Christian.
It’s truly astonishing that no matter how chaotic and uncivilised the West becomes, the liberals are *still* convinced that less Christianity is the answer.
