Emotional Women and Rational Men – Why I’m Coming Out as Binary

Did you know that being a man means that you are “competitive, ambitious, independent, rational, tough, sexual, confident, dominant, taking risks and caring about your work?

Or that being a woman means that you are “nurturing, caring, social, emotional, vulnerable and concerned with appearance.”

No – this is not out of some 1950’s traditionalist uber right-wing Christian fundamentalist manual for relationships.  This is bang up to date.  This wonderful advice comes from The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.   published this week and reported on in The Telegraph.   Mind you these feminine characteristics do not necessarily apply if you are from up North!  Because according to our counsellors and Psychotherapists,

“not all women adhere to all these things… In some northern working-class contexts, femininity is associated with strength and aggression.”

And to be fair to the author – not all men fit the guidance “”However, of course, not all men adhere to all these things. For example some men take on major child-rearing roles in the family or enter caring professions.”

The author of this incredible piece of guidance is Dr Meg-John Barker, a writer and academic who is currently senior lecturer in psychology at the Open University.

March CoverWhy has this reactionary and ridiculous gender stereotyping been issued by a respected organisation?  You guessed it – its due to the collective madness gripping Western Liberal Intelligentsia over transgender.   Whatever else happens every organisation, every media outlet, every academic institution, has to demonstrate that they are ‘up with the times’ when it comes to accepting Transgender theory.   Every thing must be geared not only to the handful of people who really do suffer from GID, but also to the unscientific and unproven doctrines of Queer Theory.

“It is important not to assume being a woman necessarily involves being able to bear children, or having XX sex chromosomes or breasts”.

Dr Meg-John Barker (I am not sure which of the 77 genders he/she/ze/zer/they/zey/ assign to themselves) tells us that ““It is important not to assume being a woman necessarily involves being able to bear children, or having XX sex chromosomes or breasts”.

Take a deep breath,

Let that one sentence sink in…

And consider just how far down the rabbit hole our insane culture has gone – On the one hand the fact that you have a womb, female chromosomes, breasts or female genitalia does not make you a woman,  on the other if you are nurturing, caring, emotional and concerned with your appearance, you are clearly a woman – even if you can’t bear children, have male chromosomes, can’t breast feed (although apparently you can ‘chest feed’….if they find you a suitable machine to ensure your equality) and have male genitalia!

But this really confuses me.   I must be a man because I think I am independent, rational. competitive and care about my work (it doesn’t really matter if I am or not, because that’s how I identify and you are never permitted to question my identity)..   On the other hand I must be a woman because I identify as caring, nurturing,  emotional and vulnerable (although I do accept that I can’t even in my maddest dreams identify as caring about my appearance!).  What’s a boy/girl to do?   I guess I’m just going to have to declare myself binary….I’m a male with female characteristics, or a female with male characteristics. Or perhaps I am just a mixture of the 77 genders….?

Or maybe, just maybe….at the risk of being labelled a transphobic bigot – I might just revert to the Bibles’ crazy idea that there is such thing as male and female?   What if I reject  the gender identity stereotypes put forward by 21st Century liberal identitarians and instead rely on ‘God made them male and female’.  I could come into the real world and realise that there are biological and physiological differences between the sexes…why I might even go so far as to say that there are cultural differences and that gender is affected by culture and upbringing.

But I can move out of the  insane world which declares ‘you can be whatever gender you want to be) and insists that gender is merely a social construct and nothing to do with biology.  This rolls back the decades of advance of feminism (thus putting the misogynists and the transgenderists in a real wacky alliance! Spiked Online called transgenderism ‘misogyny in drag!)  and means that there is no real basis for gender equality or anything but the most shallow of understandings – women wear lipstick and care (except of course if they are Northerners or autistic – yes they say that as well in the guidelines), men carry guns and don’t cry.

In Biblical Christianity God created us male and female – both in his image.  In Christ there is no male or female (not in the sense that it doesn’t exist, but rather than it does not make a fundamental distinction in our relationship with God).  That is the heart and real intellectual basis of all equality.  Everything else is peripheral.

Isn’t it strange how in rejecting God, we are now in the process of destroying humanity?  Lord, have mercy.

Ps.  Germaine Greer – if you read this I’m so sorry – I didn’t mean to trigger you!  I have every sympathy with your anger and disdain on this issue.

  1. Thank you. It has always made me laugh to see that the first thing the sex/gender change agents needed to establish as Ultimate Truth was that males like trucks, are aggressive, don’t converse, etc., and women like wearing dresses and lipstick, play house, and nurture. You know, the oversimplified caricature of the sexes we spent decades explaining to one another that many didn’t fit into, even when gender was not at all confused. And of course trans people mimic the caricature, not the real substance of what it is to be male or female. What if there are real differences from the cell outward, yet the surface manifestations don’t always fit the stereotype? But both must be denied.

  2. As Christians – we need to encourage, challenge, protect and strengthen each other’s gender. Christian women need to pray for – encourage – and strengthen the masculinity of men – their roles and responsibilities – to pray for a generation of leaders – and not put men down. Christian men – you need to pray for and protect the femininity and roles of women against this insidious satanic misogyny. This is not a time for men and women to compete against each other in churches for status and recognition – it is a time for selfless service – to glorify Jesus – through fulfilling our God ordained gender and roles – wisely and intelligently. It is a time for repentance for both genders – for the ways in which we have not been godly men and women. Most of all we need to pray for the children – those little boys and girls – who have to face this insidious satanic attack on their gender. Let us encourage them – bless them – love them and may God grant them his Word to be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path. May God save a generation for himself! “Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear!” Isaiah 59:1

    1. goodfeltg – unless it’s my lack of tech know how – your link doesn’t seem to work – it just links to gmail.

  3. It is more important not to assume that actual women are going to stand for this guff.

Perhaps you are reformagender? Or is it calvinois?

  4. When I began attending school my kindergarten teacher taught us a poem:

What are little girls made of?
Sugar and spice and all things nice,
That’s what little girls are made of!

What are little boys made of?
Snips and snails and puppy dogs tails,
That’s what little boys are made of!

I suppose that is open for some intense interpretation about stereotypes by Dr Meg-John Barker.

He/she/it wouldn’t approve of the definition of an elderly lady on TV recently who when asked what defined boys and girls said,”Oh! Boys have that little wiggly bit and girls don’t”.

  5. ‘In biblical Christianity God created us male and female’ – and everyone understands what the Bible means in stating that. ‘Biblical’ is an important qualification, because few Christians believe that God created the world – they accept the atheistic evolutionary story. But it is not only human beings that were made male and female; all animals were. Does the present subversion of sexual difference apply to other animals as well? Apparently not, because only we are made in the image of God, with the ability therefore to question and rebel against our own God-given natures.

Genesis 1 certainly has application. It affirms what we know from experience, that male and female are real categories, and there are real psychological differences linked to the biological differences. But if we wish to understand the present controversy, we need to turn to Genesis 3 – and bringing that up takes courage.

The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.” The man fails to exercise the authority God gave him, listens to the voice of the woman rather than God – exactly as today. And the woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” She also can’t accept responsibility and claims to be a victim of someone else’s ill will. She correctly identifies that someone as the Serpent. Today, with no spiritual insight, she blames the man for her dissatisfaction.

Eve was deceived, not Adam – but out of weakness he went along with the deception. So it is today, only worse. Men have been thoroughly brow-beaten and no longer act as men. Whether inside or outside the Church, they are too afraid to say what they know to be the truth. Or maybe they no longer do know. Many are eating the fruit of feminism/transgenderism believing that, as claimed, it produces enlightenment.

The rebellion in Eden has played itself out. Humanity does not accept that God even exists; there is only man and woman. So, having got rid of God, the Serpent stirs up conflict between the man and the woman. The woman is deceived into hating herself as woman, so that she wants to be a man: her desire is for her husband (Gen 3:17, a phrase capable of more than one meaning). “Being a woman does not necessarily involve being able to bear children, or having XX sex chromosomes or breasts,” she says, as if she now knows what it does involve. When that is considered to be the fundamental question facing humanity, rather than whether the Creator-Saviour God exists, what hope is there?

  6. After reading your comment about triggering Germaine Greer, I decided to self identify as Trigger, Roy Rogers’ palomino horse, whose gender was apparent whenever he raised his tail! Even though I am male too, I must have had a crush on Roy Rogers at age 6, because I dressed in buckskin whenever possible. (If your readers don’t know who Roy Rogers was, look him up) The only problem with my being Trigger is that he underwent name change from Golden Cloud when he became famous, but not to worry, the horse wasn’t bothered by identity confusion. Trigger is certainly a name for our times. Now to change my social security number….I hope this link works to the trigger/thriller parody.
